Home base: Michigan
If you tuned in recently, you likely caught me during my 2+ months in Central America. From there, I spent a week in Austin, Texas leading a group of business founders at the famed SXSW conference (if you don’t know it, it’s okay. It’s cool though, an all-encompassing tech, startups, innovation, music, art, and future-thinking gathering of global minds).
Now, I’m in a “reset” phase, visiting my family at home in Michigan. While here, I focus on:
• catching up on and diving into my work
• being present with family and friends
• resting
• filling myself with healthy habits (nutrition, exercise, etc)
• preparing for whatever is coming next….
• Salsa dancing, classes, and socials in Michigan!
• Drinking so many liquids
• Refreshing my skincare methods
• Keeping a clean bedroom
• Reading a paperback book before bed
Logging my meals as I begin base training for Ironman Michigan!
• Finished Michelle Obama’s memoir, Becoming.
• Finished: Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer (spotify audiobook)
• In the middle of: Unsheltered (Barbara Kingsolver)
• In the middle of listening to: Room for Good Things to Run Wild (Josh Nadeau)
• Still working through: How to Afford Everything by Dr. Darla Bishop (personal finance)
• Starting next: The Pursuit of Endurance (Jennifer Pharr Davis)
• Run at as slow a pace as possible–for time, not distance
• Getting back on the bike
• being diligent about the exercises prescribed by my physical therapist to continue healing my back and avoiding further pain!
• Becoming a killer salsa dancer
• Continuing to grow in my marketing positions; to gain practice, expertise, and confidence with my projects.
• To do my best to grow the presence of Flying with Founders and fill our next retreats!
• To manage my time and the different time zones well so that I am working plenty, but not wasting time that could otherwise be spent exploring.
• Liturgies of the ordinary (ask me about this!)
• “Explore and Embrace.”
• “I want to live and feel all the shades, tones, and variations of mental and physical experience possible in my life.” – Sylvia Plath
• Being calm confidently myself in all things!!
